Here’s everything you need to know before your visit – from how referrals and rebates work, to what to expect during treatment.
How to Schedule Your Visit
Booking Without a Referral
You’re welcome to book an appointment directly – no GP referral needed. Just give us a call or send an enquiry through our website. Private consultation fees apply and may include an ultrasound if needed.
Booking With a GP Referral
If you have a GP referral, please send it to us before your appointment or bring it with you on the day. A private consultation fee still applies, but you’ll receive a Medicare rebate to help cover the cost.
Referral from an Allied Health Professional
We also accept referrals from physiotherapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors. You’ll still be able to claim a Medicare rebate, but it’s usually lower than with a GP or specialist referral. A private consultation fee applies.
Private Health Insurance
While we don’t bill private health funds directly, some procedures - like pain management or radiofrequency ablation - may be eligible for reimbursement, depending on your level of cover. We’ll provide you with a detailed receipt so you can lodge a claim with your insurer if applicable.
Bulk Billing
Meridian Vein and Pain is a fully private clinic, and we do not offer bulk billing. All consultations and treatments are provided on a fee-for-service basis. If you’d like to know more about costs or have any concerns, we’re happy to talk you through it before your appointment.
